I have THE WORST skin. But over the years I’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t. So much so that I no longer wear foundation because my skin tone is even and my breakouts are minimal and at times nonexistent for months! I don’t take hormonal birth control or any medication to prevent breakouts. I honestly believe it’s my skin care routine!! And while there are MANY fantastic high end products on the market, as a family of 6 it’s not always possible for me to pick up a bottle of $35 cleanser from the makeup counter. So here it is: my affordable skin care routine!

Butcher Boy Coconut Oil  is something I use every day. It removes makeup, makes my skin unbelievably soft, and my eyelashes are longer than they’ve ever been! I put it on right from the jar, rub it in, let it sit for a minute or so, and then rub off with a soft cloth. If the greasy feeling is something you don’t like try using warm water to rinse off the oil. Either way your skin will feel smooth and watch those lashes grow!

St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Face Scrub: Green Tea I only use this in the shower, but it’s an excellent way to gently exfoliate without irritating your skin. The smell is divine and the exfoliating particles don’t feel like sandpaper. I’ve been using St. Ives for as long as I can remember and this is my favorite product to date! The gritty bits are definitely not as rough as the exfoliating apricot which is the reason why I switched!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer for Sensitive Skin I put this lotion on every morning and every night before bed. It’s light, doesn’t clog my pores, and it has SPF. I’m super fair skinned and SPF is a deal breaker for me! I have to have it daily– I even sunburn in the winter! SPF is my jam!

Silicone Makeup Sponge I used to think these things were bogus until I tried them. I put on my primer and face lotions with them and they are amazing!! I don’t have to rub my hands on my face risking a breakout, they rinse off easily, and they don’t harbor bacteria. These two sponges are smaller in size– smaller than the palm of my hand. Depending on your preference that could be a deal breaker.

Global Beauty Retinol Spa Treatment Masks I was really hesitant before trying these masks because for one, I bought mine at Dollar Tree, and two, I have had allergic reactions to retinol in the past. However, for the sake of beauty, I tried them. They make my skin feel AMAZING! No reaction, and the results are lasting. I can feel a difference for days after the application. While I bought several packs of two at Dollar Tree, I’m going to be ordering more from Amazon to keep my supply up. I was really pleased with my results!

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer I’ve gone through several tubes of this product already so it’s safe to say it’s been tried, tested, and proven to be true. I don’t wear foundation over it, but the way my skin looks after application is smooth and my pores really are visibly smaller!

Light Blue Flamingo Makeup Bag I’m one of those people that keep all of my beauty products in a makeup bag. I wish I could tell you I have a pinterest worthy vanity stocked with fantastic pieces of beauty products, but sadly that isn’t my reality. I share a bathroom with my kids so all my products have to be safely secured. What better way than this super cute weather resistant bag?? And the flamingos are on point!

What are some of your favorite skin care products??
